Common problems
The same problem can have a few different causes. We test before we start replacing gear.
What might cause it
Low pool water, a damaged lid seal, a leaking suction union or valve, a blocked line, or a crack in the suction pipe

We check the water level and lid seal, then isolate and vacuum test the suction lines while watching the pump prime
What might cause it
A failed mechanical shaft seal, housing seal, drain plug or crack in the pump wet end
How we check
We dry and run the pump to locate the source, then inspect the motor face and shaft for corrosion caused by the leak
What might cause it
A jammed impeller, seized bearings, failed start capacitor, low supply voltage or an internal motor fault
How we check
With power isolated, we check whether the shaft and impeller turn freely, then arrange the required electrical tests before attempting another start
Our process
We turn off dry or hot pumps to protect them.
We look for blockages, closed valves, and air leaks.
We check the motor, seals, and impeller.
We repair the fault, prime the pump, and check the flow.
After the visit
We fix the air leak or blockage and the pump works again.
We replace the seals or capacitor and test the motor.
If the motor is burnt out, we quote a correctly sized new pump.
