Pool Diagnostics Melbourne

Not sure what is wrong with the pool? We test the water, flow and equipment so you do not spend money on parts before the fault is checked.

What we do

Fault finding across the whole pool system

Before we arrive

Send a photo of the equipment area and tell us exactly what the pool is doing.

Safety first

Switch off anything that smells burnt, trips the power, or makes a grinding noise.

6

You are not sure what is broken

What we check

A proper look at the whole setup

Water balance and salt levels

Pump flow and filter pressure

Equipment power and settings

Visible leaks around the gear

Valve positions and pipework

Overall system health

Pool equipment we work on

What we work with

We check the equipment, water path and controls before we recommend a repair.

High-end pool equipment plant room
The complete equipment system is considered during fault diagnosis
Pool equipment plant room
Plant-room pipework, controls and equipment checked together
Older pool equipment pad with heater and chlorinator
Existing equipment can have more than one fault affecting the same symptom
Outdoor pool control installation
Control equipment inspected as part of the operating sequence
Existing multi-valve pool equipment pad
Valves and pipework checked before a component is blamed

Common problems

What could be going on

The same problem can have a few different causes. We test before we start replacing gear.

Problem 1

The pump does not run when the controller calls for it

What might cause it

A control or supply fault, an open safety interlock, a failed start component, or a seized motor

How we check

We trace the start command, check the controller and mechanical condition, then isolate any live electrical testing that requires a licensed electrician

Problem 2

The heater reports low flow even though the pump is running

What might cause it

A loaded filter, incorrect valve position, low pump speed, air in the system, or a restriction through the heater

How we check

We compare filter pressure, pump speed and return flow, then check the bypass and heater pressure circuit in sequence

Problem 3

The chlorinator reports low salt when the pool has already been salted

What might cause it

The salt level may still be low, or cold water, scale, cell wear or calibration may be affecting the reading

How we check

We take an independent salinity reading, inspect the cell plates and compare the result with the controller diagnostics

What we can help with over the phone

Look at error codes on your gear
Check photos of your valves
Tell you if it is safe to run

What needs a site visit

Test electrical parts safely
Find a hidden leak
Guarantee a fix without seeing it

Our process

How we handle it

01

Listen to you

We ask what the pool is doing and when it started.

02

Check the basics

We look at the water, flow, and power first.

03

Test the gear

We run the equipment and track down the exact fault.

04

Give you options

We explain what appears to be faulty and what repair or replacement options make sense.

After the visit

What happens next

Simple fix

We sort out a setting or blockage on the spot.

Clear repair plan

We tell you exactly what parts are needed.

Honest advice

We let you know if replacing the gear makes more sense.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often.

What is the difference between a service and diagnostics?+

A service maintains a working pool. Diagnostics finds and proves the cause of a specific fault.

Can you fix it during the visit?+

Simple issues can often be fixed during the diagnostic visit. If parts are needed, we make the pool safe and quote the repair.

Do I need to be home?+

It helps if you can show us the fault, but we can diagnose the pool if we have access.

What if the equipment is old?+

We will tell you if a repair is worth doing compared to replacing the unit.

Do you check the water?+

Yes. Water balance often causes equipment faults, so we always test it.
