Observe before changing settings

A maintenance schedule should respond to weather, water temperature, swimmer load, debris and the installed system. The intervals below are prompts for observation. Manufacturer instructions and measured water results take priority.

Safe first checks

Confirm the water is clear and the floor is visible before swimming.
Check water level, skimmer flow, return flow and controller warnings.
Test the key water values at a frequency suited to temperature and use, with extra checks after heat, rain and heavy swimming.

How often should I test pool water?+

How long should the pump run each day?+

Do I need service during winter?+
