Pool Heater Repair Melbourne

Heater not warming the water? We check the flow, settings, and sensors before deciding the heater is dead.

What we do

Heat pump diagnostics and control repairs

Before we arrive

Take a photo of any error code before you reset the heater.

Safety first

Turn off the heater if it trips the power, smells burnt, or leaks inside the casing.

Good for

Common reasons people call us

1

The heater will not turn on

2

The water is not getting warm

3

An error code is on the screen

4

The heater makes unusual noises

5

The heater turns off too soon

6

The timer or app is not working

What we check

A proper look at the whole setup

Pool temperature and target setting

Water flow and bypass valves

Error codes and sensor readings

Airflow around the heater

Power supply and connections

Pool cover use and weather

Pool equipment we work on

What we work with

We check the equipment, water path and controls before we recommend a repair.

Pool heat pump beside an equipment enclosure
A heat-pump installation checked for flow, controls and airflow
Residential pool heat-pump installation
The heater and connected plumbing inspected under operating conditions
Pool heat pump installed beside a home
Clearance and discharge airflow form part of the heater check
Gas pool heater product
Gas-heater faults are separated from flow and control problems
Pool and spa system sharing one heater
Pool and spa flow paths checked through a shared heating circuit

Common problems

What could be going on

The same problem can have a few different causes. We test before we start replacing gear.

Problem 1

The heater stops on a low-flow or pressure-switch fault

What might cause it

A dirty filter, low pump speed, incorrect bypass setting, air in the circuit or scale through the heat exchanger

How we check

We measure flow and pressure through the heater, confirm the valve positions and check whether the fault clears when the hydraulic restriction is corrected

Problem 2

The heater runs for long periods but the pool temperature barely moves

What might cause it

Heat loss may exceed the heater output, or the unit may have reduced output from an airflow, refrigerant, gas or heat-exchanger fault

How we check

We record the inlet and outlet temperature difference, ambient conditions and run time, then compare the measured output with the pool volume and heat loss

Problem 3

Water appears underneath the heater during operation

What might cause it

It may be normal condensate, a leaking union, a drain issue or a leak from the heat exchanger

How we check

We dry the area, observe the source through a full cycle and test the water where needed to distinguish condensate from treated pool water

What we can help with over the phone

Check the error code
Look at the heater settings
Check if the heater has enough space around it

What needs a site visit

Test the gas or refrigerant safely
Tell if the leak is condensation from a photo
Guarantee it will heat up by the weekend

Our process

How we handle it

01

Check the setup

We look at the pool size, cover, and target temperature.

02

Prove the flow

We make sure the pump and filter are pushing enough water.

03

Test the heater

We check the sensors, controls, and fan.

04

Fix or refer

We fix pool-side faults or tell you if a fridge mechanic is needed.

After the visit

What happens next

Flow sorted

We adjust the valves or clean the filter so the heater runs.

Heater repaired

We replace a broken sensor or control board.

Specialist needed

We let you know if the fault needs a licensed refrigeration trade.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often.

Why does the heater say low flow?+

The pump might be too slow, the filter might be dirty, or the flow switch might be broken.

Is water under the heater a leak?+

Heat pumps make condensation when they run. We can test it to see if it is pool water.

Why is the pool heating so slowly?+

Cold weather, wind, and not using a cover can slow it down. It might not be broken.

Can you fix the gas or refrigerant?+

We fix the water flow and controls. If the sealed gas system is broken, we refer you to a specialist.

Does the pump need to run with the heater?+

Yes. The heater needs water flowing through it to work.
