Fine dead algae may remain suspended, or the filter media, circulation pattern and filtration time may not be clearing it

We check return flow, filter pressure and run time, then inspect the media if the pressure does not reset or fine material keeps passing back to the pool

Chlorine exposure may have been too low, the chlorinator may be underperforming, or algae may remain in low-flow areas, light niches or plumbing

We test overnight chlorine loss, inspect chlorinator output and circulation, and brush the areas that standard cleaning can miss

The filter may simply be collecting a heavy algae load, but blocked, channelled or exhausted media can prevent the pressure returning to normal

We record pressure before and after cleaning or backwashing and inspect the media if the clean pressure does not return to its established baseline
